All services are customised to meet client needs, based on a terms of reference which is agreed as part of the contract with you.
Project Startup and Monitoring
If you have a project, and expect to run it yourself, but need help getting it started with a business case, plans and supplier engagement, I will work with you on that basis to allow you to save the cost of a full time project manager while getting the benefit of formal project management skills and experience. This is described in more detail here.
Project Management
From start-up to completion, on a part or full-time basis, your project will be managed professionally and successfully.
The methodology used will be tailored to the needs of the project and your company. If you have standards in your company, I will use them and add my own tried-and-true techniques and processes. If you’d prefer formal PRINCE2, that’s fine as well.
Independent Document Review
When you have prepared a major project document, such as a Project Initiation Document, Business Case, Requirements Definition etc, it is useful to have someone independently review and comment. This customisable service can be conducted for a fixed fee or on an hourly rate basis, and includes:
- Initial telephone discussion to understand the nature of the project and document
- Written statement of work and quote
- Reading one or more drafts, with written feedback in a standard feedback format
- Final telephone discussion to discuss the feedback
The review will be discussed in the initial telephone conversation and may include structure, suggestions for extra areas to cover, or areas to remove, relevance to audience, compliance to standards, comment on content where it is within our areas of expertise, general use of English and any other areas we agree.
Project Recovery
If a project has gone off the rails, and needs help to get back on, it can be very difficult for the project manager in the midst of it all to keep their head above water. I will come in for a short period of time to work with them to identify where there is scope for improvement and to set the project back on track.
