Projects
Over the last few years, I have managed a number of different types of projects for different companies. Please contact me for more details on the projects below.
In all of these, I have acted as a ‘customer project manager’, working for the company which commissioned the project, managing suppliers, contractors and internal teams.
- Partial automation of the validation of insurance contracts against a set of rules (initiated only)
- Adding user registration and a new application to a website, used by insurance underwriters and broking firms.
- Setting up new international data network, serving 83 sites in 25 countries in Europe, Latin and South America, Africa and Asia. By using broadband and IPSec VPN technologies, we were able to build a reliable network at a far lower cost than other technologies.
- Implementation and design of a CITRIX farm and new data centre to provide desktop services to 500 staff, reducing the number of servers needed from 60 to 10.
- Upgrade to an in-house developed content management system, allowing the company to streamline the process of adding new brands to its web selling systems, and therefore bring those brands to market more efficiently.
- Turned around a programme to renovate call centre technology in 13 call centres, including improving supplier management and project processes to allow these projects to move successfully to initial implementation stage.
- Established the process for new work and project evaluation within the IT division
- Implemented a foreign exchange selling capability in 500 travel agency shops, managing the software supplier and ensuring integration with TUI’s infrastructure
